Day 1

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:18-19

The birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but
before they came together, she was found to be expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Then
Joseph her husband to be, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public
spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.

Bible Lesson

Mary experienced a big problem before the first Christmas because her relationship with Joseph was
threatened by the fact that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

This problem of Mary teaches us that sometimes when God enables us to conceive “things” inside
us like ministries through the power of the Holy Spirit, the way Mary had conceived Jesus, we may
encounter problems in our personal and even professional lives.

Therefore if you are facing big problems because of doing what God has called you to do, do not
give up on your calling. Continue being obedient to God and trust that He will work it out for your
good just like He did for Mary.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me not give up because of these problems
that I am facing. Father God give me the strength to carry on doing what you have called me to do
so that I can fulfill my life’s purpose. In Jesus name I have prayed, Amen.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

All things work together for the good of those who love God and those who are called
according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Day 2

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:18-19

After Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be
expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband to be, not wanting to make her a
public spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.

Bible Lesson

The Bible does not tell us that Mary thought of ending her pregnancy because it had brought
problems to her life and complicated her relationship to Joseph.

Therefore, do not think of terminating the ministry or business that God has inspired you to start in
an attempt to solve the financial, relationship or other problems that began with its inception.
Instead of focusing on the new problems that are cropping up in your life, focus on fulfilling God’s
call on your life and commit to delivering what God has deposited inside you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me complete the task You have entrusted
me with so that I can deliver what You have deposited inside me to those You have sent me to.

Day 3

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:18-20

After Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be
expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband to be, being a just man, and
not wanting to make her a public spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.
But, while Joseph thought about this issue, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
dream, and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife.

Bible Lesson

There was probably very little that Mary could do to convince Joseph to stay with her and not end
their relationship because she was already pregnant with Baby Jesus.
However, even though she could not solve her problem with her natural resources, God was able to
solve it supernaturally by sending an angel to Joseph.

Therefore if you are facing a big problem without a human solution and you do not know what to
do about it, do not despair. Give it to God in prayer and wait expectantly for Him to intervene in
your situation and solve it supernaturally the way He did it for Mary.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me solve these problems that I am facing
because You are able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than I can ever ask of think.

.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think. (Ephesians
3:20)

Day 4

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:18-20

After Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be
expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband to be, being a just man, and
not wanting to make her a public spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.
But, while Joseph thought about this issue, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
dream, and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife because
she carries a conception of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Lesson

God’s angel appeared to Joseph while he thought about the problem he was facing in his
relationship.

Therefore, regardless of the problem you are facing in your relationship or life, know that God
knows your struggle even before you speak it out. Believe that He also knows the best solution for it
even before you talk about your problem to people. So, pray and ask God to reveal to you the right
course of action for dealing with your problems.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to show me the right thing to do to solve this
problem because I lift up my soul to You.

Day 5

Bible Reading
Luke 2:4-7

Joseph, together with Mary who was pregnant, went from the city of Nazareth to the city of
David known as Bethlehem because he was of the lineage of David. While they were there,
she delivered and brought forth her firstborn Son and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes
and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.

Bible Lesson

Jesus the Son of God, Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, was born in a manger.

Therefore do not despise the humble beginnings of the project that God has inspired you to begin.
Learn the lessons to be learned in your humble place and save them in your heart the way Mary
kept all these things and pondered them in heart. (Luke 2:19)

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me to remain productive even when I am
facing challenges and dealing with lots of limitations.

.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

Do not despise these humble beginnings because the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.

Day 6

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:22-23

All this was done so that it might be fulfilled what was spoken by the Lord through the
prophet saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son and they shall
call Him Immanuel, which is translated to mean, “God with us.”

Bible Lesson

Jesus’ other God-given name is Immanuel which means God is with us.

Therefore if your situation is telling you that God has abandoned you because of the problems you
are facing, make it a point to remind yourself each day that God is still with you and you are not
alone.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me remember that You are still with me
because You will never leave me or forsake me.

Day 7

Bible Reading
Matthew 2:1-11

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men came from
the East to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? We have
seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him”
… And when they came into their house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother and fell
down and worshiped Him.

Bible Lesson

Wise men took time from their schedule to seek Jesus and to worship Him.

Therefore take time off your busy schedule to seek Jesus and worship Him each day.

.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to stop me when I allow distractions to interfere
with my prayer time.

Day 8

Bible Reading
Matthew 2:1-11

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men came from
the East to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? We have
seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him”
… And when they came into their house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother and fell
down and worshiped Him.

Bible Lesson

Three wise men travelled from the East by following a star and they found where Baby Jesus was.
But, King Herod and His wise men in Judea could not find Baby Jesus who was in Judea with them.

Therefore understand that God can hide you from those who want to harm you the way He hid
Baby Jesus from King Herod and his wise men but allowed the wise men from the East to find Him
because they meant Him well.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me stop being afraid of my enemies and to
understand that You can protect me even when they surround me.

.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

Keep me as the apple of Your eye and hide me under the shadow of Your wings from the

Day 10

Bible Reading
Matthew 2:13

When the wise men had departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, and
instructed him to, “Arise, take baby Jesus and His mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there
until I tell you because Herod will search for the young Child to destroy Him.”

Bible Lesson

Mary and Joseph had to deal with the problem of King Herod wanting to kill their innocent Baby
Jesus. However God intervened and saved Baby Jesus by sending His angel to tell Joseph what He
should do.

Therefore, if powerful forces are hell bent on destroying your infant ministry or business or any
other thing that God has inspired you to begin, do not fear or lose hope even if you are physically
outmatched the way Mary and her carpenter husband Joseph were physically outmatched by King
Herod and his army.
Instead of being afraid, have faith that God is able to save you the way He saved Baby Jesus and
deliver you by showing you what to do.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to be save me from these problems and show me
what I should do about them.

Day 11

Bible Reading
Matthew 2:14-15

When Joseph woke up, he took baby Jesus and His mother Mary by night, left for Egypt,
and remained there until King Herod died, that it might be fulfilled what God spoken
through the prophet Hosea, “Out of Egypt I called My Son”.

Bible Lesson

Mary and Joseph were doing God’s will for their lives and yet they were faced with a very big
problem of King Herod trying to kill Baby Jesus. This threat made them have to leave by night with
their baby.

Therefore if you are facing big problems because of being obedient to God, do not complain about
them or their consequences of having to live through hardships like fleeing at night with a small
child.

Do not also murmur or mutter about facts like your enemies who are causing problems in your life
are enjoying life while you are suffering the way King Herod was in his luxurious palace while Mary
and her family were out in the dark fleeing.

Instead of murmuring and complaining about your problems, decide to praise and worship God so
that you can shift the focus of your attention from the problems to Him. Refocusing on God will
enable you to remain committed and obedient to Him as you believe that He has a reason for
everything that He tells us to do.

In Joseph and Mary’s situation, we can see that His reason was to fulfill the Scriptures which written
by Hosea many years before stating that God would call His Son from Egypt.

Therefore just trust and obey God even when you do not understand why you are suffering because
He tells us My thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways Higher than yours and My thoughts above your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me trust You even when I cannot
understand why I am going through what I am going through.

.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

My thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not My ways,” says the Lord. For as
the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways Higher than yours and My thoughts
above your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Day 12

Bible Reading
Matthew 2:13

When the wise men had departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, and
instructed him to, “Arise, take baby Jesus and His mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there
until I tell you because Herod will search for the young Child to destroy Him.”

Bible Lesson

The family of Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph were living in peril but they were able to survive because
Joseph heard from God and made the right decisions for his family by obeying God.

Therefore, instead of allowing problems to drive you away from God, decide to draw near to God
so that He can draw near to you. (James 4:8)

So, draw near to God through daily praise, worship, prayer and Bible reading so that you hear what
He has to tell you every day. Then, obey His instructions because your obedience will ensure that
you survive the life-threatening problems you face individually or as a family.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to speak to me and show me the things what I need
to know about my situation so that I can solve these problems.

Day 13

Bible Reading
Matthew 1:18-24, Matthew 2:13-14

After Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be
expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband to be, being a just man, and
not wanting to make her a public spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.
But, while Joseph thought about this issue, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a
dream, and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife because
she carries a conception of the Holy Spirit and she will deliver a Son.”
… The Joseph being woken from sleep, did as the Lord’s angel had commanded him and
married Mary.
… When the wise men had departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream,
and instructed him to, “Arise, take baby Jesus and His mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there
until I tell you because Herod will search for the young Child to destroy Him.”
He arose, took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt.

Bible Lesson

God provided an excellent solution for Mary’s problem by asking Joseph to marry her even though
she had an “issue” of being pregnant with Baby Jesus.
We know that Joseph was an excellent match for Mary because by agreeing to marry her, he had to
deal with the “issue” of her being pregnant with a Child who was not his biologically. He also had to
deal with the “issue” of King Herod trying to kill Baby Jesus and he dealt with both “issues” very
well.

Therefore regardless of how many “issues” you are dealing with in your life or how complicated
your situation may be, trust God to provide you with an excellent solution just like He did for Mary.
If for example if you are a Christian single who wants to get married but you are dealing with
“issues” like being a single parent or suffering from a chronic illness, do not give up on your
situation. Trust that God will open His hand and satisfy your desire of getting married and connect
you with the perfect partner who can best help you deal with your “issues”.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to open Your hand and satisfy my desire to solve
these “issues” in my life by providing me with the perfect solution.

.

.

Bible Verse Meditation

You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. (Psalm 145:16)
