Candid B cream is used for fungal infection treatment in Nairobi Kenya. It is a prescription medication manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and it is one of the medicines used for treatment of inflamed fungal infections.
Composition
It is a cream which contains 1% clotrimazole and beclometasone dipropionate 0.025%.
Candid B Cream Indications
It contains clotrimazole and this study found that clotrimazole was effective for treatment of fungal infections caused by Candida, Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Malazzesia furfur (Pityrosporon orbiculare).
Candid B cream is therefore used to treat fungal infections of the skin (Tinea corporis), feet (Tinea Pedis), jock itch (Tinea Cruris) and Tinea versicolor when they are accompanied by inflammatory symptoms like itchiness, swelling and redness of the skin.

Candid B Cream Side Effects
Side effects of clotrimazole include redness, itchiness, swelling, stinging and burning sensations. Allergic contact dermatitis may also develop.
Side effects of beclometasone include allergic contact dermatitis, folliculitis, skin atrophy, acneiform eruptions, perioral dermatitis, hypopigmentation, miliaria rubra, striae, unusual loss of hair, cataracts, Cushing’s syndrom, hirsutism, hypertension, edema , gastric ulcer, hyperglycemia, glucosuria, and HPA axis suppression.
Candid B Cream Precautions
Do not apply it if you are allergic to clotrimazole or beclometasone.
Do not use it for more than 2 weeks when treating fungal infections of the groin (Tinea cruris) and of the body (Tinea corporis).
Avoid contact with the face, armpits, genitalia and perianal region.
If skin irritation develops when using it, stop using it and wash the area.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole and beclometasone.
Patients with tuberculosis of the skin, chickenpox, herpes simplex, measles, vaccinia, and syphilitic skin lesions should not use it since its application might result in flare-up of the condition.
